A Helping Hand to Local Kids Diagnosed with Diabetes

Can we donate $10 in YOUR name to provide educational and supportive services for young people with diabetes and their families? Our agency has joined the Diabetes Youth Services (DYS) and is raising funds to assist them in their mission to help local children with type 1 diabetes manage their disease every day and supporting families, educating communities and encouraging independence.

Diabetes Youth Services (DYS) is an independent non-profit organization serving Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. They provide educational and supportive services for young people with diabetes, their families, schools, and communities. They work in cooperation with all area hospitals, health care providers, the American Diabetes Association (ADA), Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), and the Southeastern Michigan Diabetes Outreach Network (SEMDON). One of their signature programs is Hot Shot Camp. This summer camp for kids K-17 is an opportunity for kids to find peers who have diabetes and gain valuable self-management skills. DYS offers full and partial scholarships to camp and has never turned away a child because their family could not afford the fees.

All programs are staffed by experienced pediatric diabetes educators and are provided at low cost or for free. “It’s time to get involved in our community and have a positive impact on the lives of local children diagnosed with diabetes.”

Join the #AgentsOfChange movement and together let’s support DYS to create a place where children with diabetes can live healthy, confident, and independent lives through valuable, affordable, and high-quality education and support.

Our agency will make a $10 donation on your behalf, for every recommendation you send our way for a quote (no purchase necessary).
